Our CTPS Registration Explained
At EG Carpentry & Joinery Ltd, we are dedicated to maintaining the privacy and integrity of our communications. In line with this commitment, our landline number is registered with the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS).
What Is CTPS?
The Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) is a regulatory measure in the United Kingdom designed to help organisations avoid unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls. By registering with CTPS, businesses like ours take a proactive step towards protecting our work environment from unwanted interruptions and ensuring that our team can focus on what truly matters - serving our clients effectively.
The Legal Implications for Unsolicited Calls
It is important for all businesses to recognise that making unsolicited calls to numbers listed on the CTPS is not just disruptive; it's also against the law. Companies that disregard this registration and continue to make such calls are in breach of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, Section 21. The consequences of such actions include substantial fines imposed by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); the UK's independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest.
Our Stance Against Non-Compliance
EG Carpentry & Joinery Ltd takes its CTPS registration seriously. We monitor incoming calls for compliance and do not hesitate to report persistent offenders to the ICO. Moreover, should we receive calls from fraudulent numbers, we will also report these to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as part of our commitment to cybersecurity and the protection of our operational integrity.
We urge all businesses to respect our CTPS registration.
